Katherine Heigl has opened up about growing up living in "a white bubble." She also explains how this experience has affected the parenting style of her adoptees who are multi-racial. In an interview, she said recent interview that, with regards to skin colour the issue isn't that important. However, after talking to her sister who is adopted in South Korea she realized just the way society views the children. "I asked Meg how she was treated differently when she went out with our parents and those who went out alone. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl admitted to her parents that she realized how naive she had been. The singer became angry at the time, and chose to channel her anger into help her adopted daughters. The couple, who are married to Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr., 4, have been married for 13 years. The couple adopted their daughters Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide, 8, who is Black and was adopted in 2012.
